PURPOSE:To make a U-shaped tube used for a small fluorescent lamp or the like to be easily formed by using plural straight glass tubes and corner ceramic tubes to make the U-shaped tube and fusing the joint areas by means of glass frit. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped tube which has a small tube diameter and is used for a compact fluorescent lamp developed to be substituted for an incandescent lamp, is prepared by fusing three straight glass tubes 1 to two airtight corner tubes 2, formed by ceramic and having zero porosity, by means of low-melting- point glass frit. As a result, the dimensional accuracy of each part is increased. Besides, the dimensional accuracy of the U-shaped tube itself can be increased by minimizing external disturbance which may be caused during the process, thereby enabling the automation through which manufacturing efficiency can be increased. |
