PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts items as well as to simplify a clutch structure, by intalling a friction ring surrounding a spring, in case of a spring clutch in which the spring constricts a clutch barrel through external force and performs driving and coupling. CONSTITUTION:A spring clutch fits a clutch barrel 3 at the input side being unified with an input gear 2 rotatably in an output shaft 1 and simultaneously locks a clutch barrel 5 at the output side being adjoined to this clutch barrel 3 and unified with an output gear 8 in one with a key 4. In addition, it rolls a coil spring 6 round astride a space between both clutch barrels 3 and 5, and engages each end of it with each of these clutch barrels 3 and 5. In this case, a section C-shaped friction ring 20 composed of a spring material is fitted in the periphery of the spring 6, and in the state that this ring 20 is diametrically contracted, a ratchet wheel 12 is fitted outermost. Then, a claw of a control lever 16 to be driven by a solenoid 10 is engaged with this wheel 12 so that a state of being driven and coupled in the clutch is obtainable. |
