PROCESSING METHOD OF REGISTRATION OF CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To register a character pattern from a display device having a small number of display lines by converting the character pattern into a binary number and storing the converted binary number in a corresponding position of a dot matrix to register the character pattern. CONSTITUTION:A central processor 21 fetches and executes instructions in a memory 36 sequentially. An external character generator 23 generates a dot pattern previously registered on the basis of a specified code. A hexadecimal number input part 30 divides an (nXm) dot matrix into prescribed bit string units and inputs information constituting a dot pattern in accordance with the position of the divided bit string unit on the dot matrix as a hexadecimal character. The hexadecimal character inputted by hexadecimal number input part 30 is converted into the bit string information of a pattern image and registered in a prescribed position of the external character generator 23 by a pattern registration part 32.
