PURPOSE:To enhance developed color density and preservation stability, by a method wherein a pigment having a specified specific surface area and a specified oil absorption is used as a pigment incorporated in a photosensitive thermal layer of a fixable-type thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive thermal layer comprising a particulate dispersed material of a diazonium salt, a coupler compound and an organic basic compound giving a basic atmosphere by melting when being heated (as a color developer) and a natural or synthetic pigment, is provided on a base in a single layer or two o more layers. The pigment has a BET specific surface area of not greater than 100m<2>/g, an oil absorption of not smaller than 80ml/100g and an average particle diameter of 2-20mum, and is used in an amount of 3-30pts.wt. per 1pts.wt. of the diazonium salt. An ordinary diazonium salt and an ordinary coupler compound are incorporated in the photosensitive thermal layer in a discontinuous particulate dispersed form. A hydrophobic guanidine derivative, such as those of formulas I and II, is preferably used as the organic basic compound. |
