PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a shape-retentive article in the form of a binder-free tablet having in the diametral direction a crush strength of at least about 11.35 kg/2.54 cm of thickness (25 pounds/inch of thickness), containing 1,3-dihalo-5,5-dimethylhydantoins in which one halogen atom is a chlorine atom and the other halogen atom is a bromine or chlorine atom; and a method of producing the same.SOLUTION: For example, a shape-retentive article comprising a tablet or puck is formed by compacting a 1,3-dihalo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin in the absence of a binder with a pressure in the range of about 5000 to about 25,000 psi.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
