A rivet locking arrangement (10) is equipped with a damping piston (16) which is influenced by the air pressure in a damping chamber (17) in the tool casing (11, 12), whereby the damping chamber (17) has such a volume that the casing (11) is isolated from undesired vibrations. A pre-stress spring (34) is aligned with the damping piston (16), between the head (30), on an axially mobile locking press or rod (31) and a rear core (28) of the piston. The spring (34) operates to reduce piston recoil during resistance stress via absorbing strike energy and converting a part of this to internal vibrations and heat. The core (28) is replaceable for the adjustment of the damping piston (16) for resistance work in conjunction with rivets of differing hardness.<IMAGE> |
