PURPOSE:To prevent perfectly incidence of light of parts other than a light receiving section by extending the edge of a light shading film on an electrode pad for connecting external lead which is a part of a wiring layer. CONSTITUTION:An interlayer insulating film 11 is provided on an electrode pad 10 and a part for connecting external lead wire is opened. A light shading film 12 is provided on the electrode 10, and the edge 13 of the film 12 is formed keeping apart outward from the edge 14 of the film 11 so that the film 12, even if it is a conductive layer, does not come into contact with the pad 10. Accordingly, all parts excepting the light receiving section on the solid-state image pickup element can be covered by the film 12. By this constitution, excessive generation of light generating carrier can be prevented and dynamic range can be enlarged as the light is made incident to the light receiving section alone on the solid-state image pickup element. |
