Electrostatic air-filter assembly - has charging chamber with conducting protective grille, mechanical prefilter thin wire electrodes and earthed plates

The air filter assembly is fitted with a combination of several types of filtering elements arranged in series in a common housing. The assembly contains a mechanical prefilter, an electrostatic charging chamber, an electrostatic precipitating chamber, a chemical filter and a fan providing forced flow through the assembly. On the inlet end the assembly is fitted with a conductive protective grille (3) followed by a mechanical prefilter (2). The next section contains the charging chamber consisting of a great number of thin wire electrodes (9) and a great number of earthed conducting plates (4). The earthed plates (4) are connected with one end to the protective grille (3) and then other end reach into the gap between two adjacent thin wire electrodes (9). The following section is the precipitating chamber contg. the extended parts of the earthed conductive plates (4) and a great number of negative high voltage plates (7) connected with the thin wire wire electrodes (9).
