PURPOSE:To manufacture a light guide with excellent transmission property of illuminating light by a method wherein a special die having cladding formation surfaces is employed in order to simultaneously perform the extrusion of core member and the sheathing of cladding member onto the inner and outer parts of the core member. CONSTITUTION:Two metal wires 20 and an image fiber 8 are past through the through-hole 29 of a die having cladding formation surfaces 25' to sheath with clad 5 onto the inner peripheral surfaces of a core 2 and a cladding formation surface 25 to sheath with clad 3 onto the outer peripheral surface of the core 2. Core member A is supplied from an inlet 21 through a flow path 27 in order to form the core 2 and at the same time cladding member B is supplied from an inlet 22 through flow pathes 26 and 28 in order to simultaneously mold both the inner clad 5 and the outer clad 3 by extrusion. The wires 20 are pulled out in order to get through-holes for liquid circulation. Because both the inner and the outer parts of the core 2 are sheathed with the clads 5 and 3, the high transmission efficiency of illuminating light is resulted. The resultant light guide is suitable for the manufacture of endoscope. |
