<p>The strap clamp has a base portion supporting the strap and spanned by a top portion holding it. Holding lugs are provided on the base portion and teeth on the top one. The sidewalls supporting the top portion act as abutments for a tensioning tool. The cutting edges (23) of the retaining teeth in the top portion (22) are offset rearwards from the tension side, towards the holdings lugs (24). The amount of offset can be between 1.5 and 4.5 mm., and the edge of the top portion nearest the lugs can be extended towards them, typically in a convex curve. The apex of the convex part can be of a height equal to the amount of offset of the teeth.</p> |
