<p>The plant column comprises a base (12) with a water dish (14) whose upright wall (22) forms an overflow edge. There is a growth portion (16) with inner and outer tubes each containing apertures (40,42). The space between the tubes accommodates the growth material (46), while the inner tube is filled with water, which passes through the apertures in it into the growth material. The growth portion is secured to the base above the dish via a perforated bottom allowing drainage into it while leaving a clearance so that water can overflow out of the dish.</p> |
