PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of blocking phenomenon by providing a color layer containing a heat-meltable substance selected from substances having a melting point of 50-100 deg.C and a molecular weight distribution varying coefficient of 0.14 or less on a supporter. CONSTITUTION:A paint liquid for forming a color layer, containing one or more heat-meltable substances selected from substances having a melting point of 50- 100 deg.C and a molecular weight distribution varying coefficient of 0.14 or more and an adequate color, is prepared. The heat-meltable substances are obtained by extracting a paraffinic wax, an oxide wax, amide wax, etc., and purifying the extract by column chromatographic means, etc., having a specific melting point and a specific molecular weight distribution varying coefficient. The paint liquid is coated on a supporter, such as usual paper, condenser paper, etc., and dried to form a thermal transfer recording medium with a color layer of a thickness of 3-20mum. |
