Automatic vacuum moulding machine - for mfg. hollow lost wax and similar patterns for precision casting processes (CS 15.9.78)

On the machine bed is a moving die half(a) driven along a horizontal axis by a work cylinder (WC); and a fixed die half(b) with a vertical joint line between the two halves (a,b). Die half(b) has a horizontal ingate via which a vacuum can be applied, followed by the injection of wax or other paste from a heated container; compressed air is then driven into the ingate to form a hollow pattern. The machine includes a vertical pillar fitted with a coaxial row of WCs and pistons; one piston is monolithic with a heated chamber contg. the wax paste driven into the die(a,b). The patterns are ejected and drop into a water tank for cooling. Rapid mass prodn. of accurate hollow patterns can be obtd. at low cost.
