HIGH VOLTAGE THYRISTOR CONVERTER

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and the maintainability of a thyristor converter by using a laser beam and a reflecting mirror as transmitting means of a gate signal of a thyristor converter. CONSTITUTION:A control signal of a laser beam 3 outputted from a converter 1 which receives an operation command is transmitted through a cable 7 to a laser beam radiator 2. The beam 3 emitted from the radiator 2 is altered in the direction of an optical path 3a by a reflecting mirror 6 provided at part of the module SM and adjustable at the mounting angle. The beam 3 is converted into an electric signal by a photoreceptor 4 provided substantially horizontally in the module SM to control the thyristor in the module.
