<p>PURPOSE:To confirm the passage of liq. helium through a pipe for transferring liq. helium by placing a liq. helium sensor such as a carbon resistor in the pipe to detect the presence of liq. helium in the pipe. CONSTITUTION:One end of a pipe 1 for transferring liq. helium is air-tightly put in a test vessel 3 kept at an extremely low temp. such as a cryostat, and the other end is airtightly put in a liq. helium container 4 so that the open end reaches the bottom of the container 4. A sensor 2 such as a carbon resistor capable of confirming the presence of liq. helium is placed in the pipe 1, and the terminal is connected to an external gauge 5. When the container 4 is pressurized to transfer liq. helium 6 through the pipe 1, sure transfer can be confirmed by detecting the presence of liq. helium 6 in the pipe 1 with the sensor 2.</p> |
