PURPOSE:To prevent contactors of a charging roller from setting and prevent the unevenness of electrostatic charging by using materials which contains mixed magnetic powder for the contactors, and arranging a raising member formed of a magnetic body at the back surface side of a charging roller. CONSTITUTION:The fiber brush 2a of the charging roller 2 is formed by mixing carbon powder C and magnetic powder M dispersedly in a fiber layer F, and the raising member 3 which has cross section nearly in a C-shape and is formed of an electromagnet is arranged at the back surface side of the charging roller 2 in the lengthwise direction of the charging roller 2. The raising member 3 is conducted on during copying operation to attract magnetically and raising of the fiber brush 2a by contacting it, and toner sticking on the magnetic brush 2a as well as to prevent setting is attracted magnetically by the raising member 3, so residual toner which stains the surface of a photosensitive drum 1 is removed easily. |
