PURPOSE:To eliminate the change of the color phase and the saturation degree of a reproduced video signal by correcting automatically the reference level of a color difference signal to the optimal level at the time of recording and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A level detector 29 executes automatic correction of the color signal reference level at the time of recording. The said detector 29 detects the reference level for the horizontal blanking period, and inserts the level to the inside of a time-base compression color difference signal as the level of an index signal. A level detector 30 executes automatic correction of the color difference signal reference level at the time of reproduction. The said 30 detects the index signal level inside the time-base compression image signal, and inserts it as the color difference signal reference level of the color difference signal whose time base is expanded. Thus, the change of the color phase and the saturation degree of the reproduced video signal can be eliminated. |
