PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, graininess, etc., and to reduce fog by incorporating silver halide grains, each having a 2-layer structure composed of a core higher in the content of I and shell part lower in the I content in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:Core grains made of silver halide contg. 10-45mol% silver iodide are prepared by the acid, neutral, or ammoniacal method, and then, a shell part made of silver halide contg. <=5mol% silver iodide is formed on the outer layer of each core grain by the simultaneous mixing method, etc., to prepare silver halide grains, each having a substantial clear 2-layer structure. An emulsion contg. such 2-layer grains are used to prepare an emulsion contg. >=7mol%, and a support is coated with it and dried to form a silver halide emulsion layer and thus obtain an objective electrophotographic sensitive body.
