In a steering lock for motor vehicles of the general kind disclosed in Patent Specification No. 2 018 886 the projection on the locking member is formed as a separate pin (15) guided to be axially displaceable in the steering lock housing (4, 16) and the second limb (60) of the coil spring (32) has a shaped end (61) which is resiliently compressible between the rear end of the pin (15) and the steering lock housing (4, 16) for resiliently engaging the pin (15) in the unlocked position of the locking member (20), on movement of the latter into this unlocked position so that the pin (15) cannot vibrate when the locking member (20) is in its unlocked position. <IMAGE> |
