PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial leather having improved adhesive property to the sole of a shoe and suitable for instep covering materials, by applying a mixture solution of a specific polyurethane elastomer solution in an organic solvent with a polyisocyanate solution in an organic solvent onto a microporous layer in the well-known artificial leather. CONSTITUTION:A mixture solution of (A) a solution of a polyurethane elastomer obtained by reacting a polycaprolactone glycol with a low-molecular weight aliphatic glycol and/or hydrogenated bisphenol A, organic diamine, aliphatic diisocyanate and/or alicyclic diisocyanate in an organic solvent, e.g. isopropyl alcohol, with (B) a solution of a polyisocyanate selected from (i) trimer of hxamethylene diisocyanate, (ii) a reaction product of 3mol hexamethylene diisocyanate with 1mol water, etc. in an organic solvent at 2-8% mixing ratio expressed in terms of solid based on the above-mentioned solution of the elastomer in the organic solvent is applied onto a microporous layer of a polyurethane in the well-known artificial leather, and free isocyanate groups are reacted with the functional groups in the above-mentioned elastomer.
