PURPOSE:To provide a flame-retardant resin compsn. having excellent thermal stability and retaining electrical characteristics and mechanical characteristics, by incorporating a cyanurate ester compd., antimony trioxide and a glycidyl group-contg. copolymer in an arom. polyester. CONSTITUTION:3-50pts.wt. ester derived from cyanuric acid and a halogenated bisphenol, 1-20pts.wt. antimony trioxide and 1-20pts.wt. glycidyl group-contg. copolymer composed of an alpha-olefin and a glycidyl ester of an alpha,beta-unsaturated acid are mixed with 100pts.wt. arom. polyester. Arom. polyesters having a relative viscosity of 1.3-1.85 (in 0.5% o-chlorophenol soln. at 25 deg.C) are particularly preferred. Preferred examples of the cyanurate ester compds. are those obtd. by reacting cyanuric chloride with a halogenated bisphenol. |
