PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic tape from the electrostatic charge of static electricity generated by friction between the magnetic tape and guide pins by providing electrodes conducted to at least one guide pin on the outer surface of a cassette case. CONSTITUTION:The electrodes 8, 80 conducted to respective heads of a feeding side guide pin 2 and a winding side guide pin 20 are provided on the outer surface of the cassette case 1. Static electricity electrostatically charged to the magnetic tape 6 is destaticized by earthing the electrodes 8, 80. When the tape cassette is loaded to a VTR (not shown in figure), the electrode 8 conducted to the feeding side guide pin 2 is conducted to an earth electrode in the VTR.
