PURPOSE:To form a high-speed and low-power full-color printer while preventing deterioration in the quality of print picture due to degrading of a recording head by providing a printer capable of performing a recording operation in two directions with respect to the bidirectional movement of a serial head to extend the life of the recording head. CONSTITUTION:Two serial head recording sections having a plurality of recording needles 2 are so arranged to perform a recording by applying a signal between adjacent recording needles 2. The two serial head recording sections performs a recording alternately with respect to the movement of the serial head to the right and left. The two serial heads are combined to move vertically to match the movement of the body supporting them to the right and left. In this manner, with the movement of the body in the two directions, transfer can be always done and the speed of completing the transfer of a sheet of paper to be transferred can be increased thereby enabling a higher speed operation. |
