An electronic device and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The electronic device include a display unit and a controller configured to render a web page, display the rendered web page on the display unit, and detect the body of the web page satisfying a predetermined condition, to which a visual recognition method is applied, based on allignment information of objects of the web page when receiving a specific input through the display unit.
