PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for reducing optical spectrum offset.SOLUTION: A first optical light including a first optical channel having a first nominal wavelength and a signal bandwidth at the first nominal wavelength is received by an optical filter, the optical filter is programmed with the first nominal wavelength together with a certain passband, and then the first optical power value of the filtered optical signal is measured. The optical filter is programmed with other wavelength in the signal bandwidth together with the passband, and then other optical power value is measured for each other wavelength. Based on the first optical power value and other optical power value, the maximum optical power value and the effective wavelength of the first optical signal is determined.
