PURPOSE:To improve water resistance of a filter unit by bonding edges of a filter element coated with a first adhesive agent to an external frame with a second adhesive agent having affinity to said first adhesive agent. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer 6 provided on the whole surface of a filter element 3 confronting an air inlet side of a filter unit 1 is constituted of a resin material having water repellency. The first adhesive agent 7 comprising a rubber resin is coated on the edge of the filter element to cover the edge. The second adhesive agent 8 comprising an epoxy resin having affinity to the first adhesive, etc. is used to bond the edge of the filter element to an external frame 2. By this constitution, the water resistance of the filter unit is improved.
