PURPOSE:A specific microorganism in Emericella is cultured in a medium to which gamma-butyrobetaine and crotonylbetaine have been added to enable industrially advantageous production of the titled compound which is suitably used for treatment of diabetes as an inhibitor of fatty acid decomposition. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism in Emericella, capable of producing N-acylemeriamine of the formula (R is COCH3, COCH2CH3, COCH2CH2CH3) such as Emericella quadrilineata-Sc-10-125 strain (FERM P-7566) is cultured in a medium containing gamma-butyrobetaine and/or crotonylbetaine, preferably through the submerge cultivation with aeration, at 23-37 deg.C and a pH4-6 in the beginning for 1-12 days to accumulate the objective compound. |
