PURPOSE:To make it possible to stand an electric shock such as static electricity by supplying power source by irradiating light for a card power source part from a light source and transferring a signal with a light signal. CONSTITUTION:When an IC card 20 is inserted into a card insertion port of a card reader 36, the card reader 36 irradiates light for a power source 26 of the IC card 20 from a light source 44 and causes an electromotive force to generate at a solar cell of the card power source part 26. When an oscillating signal Xtal, which is outputted from an oscillator 41 at the side of the card reader 36, is supplied through a light emitting element 421a to a light receiving element 23a of the IC card 20, a CPU221 starts to operate and reads out necessary items from a data store part 222. Read data Out are converted to a light signal by a light emitting signal 24 and is transmitted to the card reader 36. The data Out is received at a photodetector 422, is transmitted to a CPU431, is sent to an external device and is read. |
