PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent processability and resistance to impact and heat, consisting of a graft polymer obtd. by grafting a specified vinyl monomer onto a diene rubber and a heat-resistant vinyl resin. CONSTITUTION:50-30pts.wt. vinyl monomer (a) contg. 20-60wt% alpha-methylstyrene is grafted continuously or batchwise onto 50-70pts.wt. diene rubber (b) in the presence of a redox catalyst composed of a mixture consisting of 0.1- 0.5pt.wt. oxidizing agent (e.g. cumene hydroperoxide) and a reducing agent composed of 0.3-0.9pt.wt. glucose, 0.2-0.6pt.wt. pyrophosphate and 0.004-0.012pt.wt. FeSO4 and 0.1-1.0pt.wt. emulsifier (c) per 100pts.wt. of the combined quantity of components (a) and (b), thus obtaining a graft copolymer (A) which has a graft ratio of 35% or above and in which the non-grafted moiety has an intrinsic viscosity [eta] of 0.2-0.4dl/g in methyl ethyl ketone at 30 deg.C. 20-50wt% component A is mixed with 80-50wt% heat-resistant vinyl resin (B) having an alpha-methylstyrene content of 50wt% or above. |
