PURPOSE:To keep pumping operation in good conditions all the time, by changing the number of pump units and each setting pressure at a time when a pumping operation point oversteps the limits of a pumping operatable range, in case of plural pumping plants. CONSTITUTION:In case of plural pumping plants, a total pump head is calculated from a flow rate, discharge pressure and suction pressure, and with a signal out of an operatable range memory 9 storing operatable range data on each pump, the number of pump units or setting pressure are changed by an operation range monitor 10 at a time when a pump operation point oversteps the limits of an operatable range. With this constitution, each pumping plant is operated in a normal operating range all the time so that a cavitation and a minimum flow are in no case produced there.
