PURPOSE:To raise the assurance and efficiency of the supply of necessary amounts of hot water within a given time period by a method in which a capacity controllable compressor is provided and its operational capacity is set up on the basis of the amount of residual hot water and the heat source enthalpy during the startup period of heating operation. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-pump cycle heating unit 1, a capacity controllable compressor 2 capable of controlling revolving number by varying frequency, a heat exchanger 3, a throttling mechanism 4, and a heat source side heat exchanger 5 are connected with a circular refrigerant tube to make up a heat pump cycle. When the amount of residual hot water is small and the heat source enthalpy is low, the revolving number of the compressor 2 is maximized by setting a control circuit 11 to increase the heating performance, thereby sufficiently assuring the amount and temperature of hot water in a hot water storage tank 7. When the amount of residual hot water is great or heat source enthalpy is high to lessen the quantity of necessary heat, the revolving number of the compressor 2 is minimized for operation by setting the control circuit 11, permitting operations of high heat efficiency to be performed. |
