摘要 PURPOSE:To remove the ununiformity of picture quality in the joint of a long and narrow picture by setting the aspect ratio of the phosphor dots in the three primary colors to 2 to 1 or more, sequentially arranging them in a row in the horizontal direction, also arranging them in a delta form shifting the next single row in the horizontal direction, and filling the section between the respective phosphor dots with a non-luminous body. CONSTITUTION:R1, G1, B1, R1, G1, B1... comprise a phosphor row 30 in the first row in which red, green, and blue phosphor dots are sequentially aligned on a line in the horizontal direction. Each phosphor dot of a phosphor row 31 in the second row is aligned so as to be located halfway between each phosphor dot of the phosphor row 30 in the first row. Besides, the phosphor dot with the same color is arranged in the same position as the phosphor row 30 in the first row for an odd-row phosphor row and the phosphor row 31 in the second row for an even-row phosphor row. Each phosphor dot is long and narrow in the vertical direction and the section between the respective phosphor dots is covered with opaque film 32 such as carbon film. As a result, the ununiformity of the picture quality for the joint of a long and narrow picture caused by the vertical deflection of an electron beam can be removed and the resolution in the horizontal direction can be improved.
