PURPOSE:To improve quality by providing a selecting circuit which sends the cutting signal of the boundary line between a specific- and nonspecific-thickness area of the veneer and the cutting signal of the boundary line between a proper and an improper moisture content area within the time limit of the cutting signal of the boundary line between the front end and rear end of the specific-thickness area to a cutting machine. CONSTITUTION:Moisture detectors 2a-2c and thickness detectors 3a-3d are installed over the veneer P conveyed by a carry-in conveyor 1 at right angles to its fiber direction, and the boundary line of the front end part of an improper moisture content area is determined at the position where even one of the detectors 2 detects decides on the improper moisture content area on the basis of a preset moisture content range, thereby sending a cutting signal. Further, when the detector does not decide on the improper moisture content area any more, the position is determined as the boundary line of the rear end part and a cutting signal is sent. Similarly, cutting signals are sent at boundary lines as to preset thickness and transmitted to the cutting machine 6 through a controller 5. Further, the cutting machine 6 cuts the veneer P at the positions of the boundary lines and the cut veneer P is carried out of a carry-out conveyor 10. |
