PURPOSE:To produce sintered ore having high quality with high efficiency by optimizing the suction air flow distribution in the transverse direction of a pallet in a DL sintering machine to increase the layer thickness of a sintering raw material and to decrease the leak air from the side parts of the pallet. CONSTITUTION:Partition walls 6 are provided in a wind box 4 to divide the pallet to both side parts and a central part in the stage of producing the sintered ore for a blast furnace by the DL sintering machine. Suction air flow adjusters 7a, 8a are provided respectively to said walls so that the suction air flow 7 on both sides and the suction air flow 8 in the central part are made respectively adjustable. The red hot zone 9a in a ore discharge part 9 is trisected by the walls 6 in the transverse direction of the pallet to both side parts and the central part. The suction air flow 7 in both side parts is adjusted smaller than the suction air flow 8 in the central part to decrease the quantity of the leak air in both side parts in the stage of operation. The heat loss in both side parts is decreased and the quality is made uniform in the transverse direction of the pallet in the red hot zone 9a of the ore discharge part. The sintered ore having a high grade is thus produced with high efficiency.
