PURPOSE:To obtain a CPI code by using the frequency of an input clock as it is without multiplying it by calculating the sum of the waveform shaping output of a CMI code of 1 based upon the input clock and a CMI code of ''0''. CONSTITUTION:Input data, a frame signal, and the input clock applied to terminals 13, 14, and 15 are passed through FFs 1, 2, and 3, EX-OR circuits 6 and 7, and an NOR circuit 9, which outputs a CMI code of ''1''. This code of ''1'' is waveform-shaped by an FF17 by using the input clock from the terminal 15 and a waveform with constant pulse width and a constant period is applied from the Q terminal of the FF17 to an OR circuit 10. A CMI code of ''0'', on the other hand, is passed through a delay circuit 11 for phase adjustment and applied to the circuit 10. The circuit 10 calculates the sum of two codes to perform conversion into a CMI code.
