PURPOSE:To reduce a device in size and power consumption by providing a multiplexer which inputs plural outputs of preamplifiers and outputs those inputs on time-division basis. CONSTITUTION:The preamplifiers QP1-QP3 are connected to plural signal readout lines EC1-EC3 led out of an array CA where charge implantation elements are arranged in a matrix. Outputs of those amplifiers QP1-QP3 are inputted to the multiplexer MP, which reads out the outputs of the amplifiers QP1-QP3 on time-division basis. Therefore, the device requires only one system of a readout circuit consisting of a main amplifier MA, sample and hold circuit SH, postamplifier PA, etc. Consequently, the area of the device is reduced to about one third as large as before as long as the number of readout lines is unchanged, and the power consumption is reduced greatly.
