Improved polyester yarn is prepared from a slurry mixture comprising ethylene glycol, a silicon compd., i.e., silicon dioxide, a dispersion promoter having formula (R1)2-NX-(R2)2, and an affinity agent having formula (R3O)3-Si-(R4Y) by conventional polymerization and spinning; where R1 = C1 - C3 alkyl; R2 = C2 C4 alkyl; X = hydroxy or a halogen element; R3 = CH3, COCH3, or CH2CH2OCH3; R4 = CH=CH, CH2CH2CH2CH-O-CHCH2; and Y = hydrogen or a halogen element.
