PURPOSE:To obtain many vertical magnetic recording heads at a time by cutting and separating a head constituting composite substrate consisting of a nonmagnetic substrate and a magnetic substrate into individual unit heads after forming many unit head parts in columns and rows simultaneously on the composite substrate. CONSTITUTION:Many projecting parts 23 surrounded with grooves 22 cut in parallel crosses are formed in columns and raws simultaneously on the main surface of a magnetic substrate 21, and exciting coils 24 are arranged around individual projecting parts 23. Plural main magnetic pole constituting substrates 25 each of which is provided with plural main magnetic poles 27 extended from a prescribed side face of a nonmagnetic insulating substrate 26 to the upper face are prepared, and substrates 25 are stuck to each other by an epoxy resin adhesive or the like while interposing main magnetic poles 27 between them, thus forming a main magnetic pole constituting body 28. The main magnetic pole constituting body 28 is positioned onto the magnetic substrate 21 with exciting coils so that lower end parts of individual main magnetic poles 27 are connected magnetically to corresponding projection parts 27 of the magnetic substrate 21, and the main magnetic pole constituting body 28 is stuck there. Thereafter, a head constituting block body 29 consisting of the magnetic substrate 21 with exciting coils and the main magnetic pole constituting body 28 is cut and separated along cutting lines A. |
