PURPOSE:To improve the bonding strength of a neutralization timing layer to a layer adjacent to the timing layer in a wet state as well as in a dry state by successively forming a neutralizing layer and the timing layer on a support and incorporating a specified compound into the timing layer. CONSTITUTION:When a neutralizing layer and a neutralization timing layer are successively formed on a support to obtain a photograhic element, a compound having two or more isocyanate groups, that is, a polyisocyanate compound is incorporated into the timing layer. The polyisocyanate compound may be an aliphatic polyisocyanate compound, an aromatic polyisocyanate compound or a mixture theroof, and the compound is required only to have two or more isocyanate groups in one molecule. By incorporating the polyisocyanate compound into the pigment layer, the bonding strength of the timing layer to the neutralizing layer or other polymer layer is improved in a wet state as well as in a dry state to prevent stripping. Since the bonding strength is improved without forming an extra layer such as a primer layer, the resulting photograhic element is advantageous with respect to process and cost. |
