PURPOSE:To stabilize the sealed area of the electrode pole inserted in the electrode pole insertion hole of the lid by pressing a rubber packing attached around the electrode by means of projections formed on the terminal connected to the electrode pole. CONSTITUTION:After the electrode pole 5 of a plate group is inserted in an electrode pole insertion hole 4 formed in the concave section 2 of a battery lid 1, a rubber packing 6 is attached around the end of the electrode plate 5. At the same time, a rubber packing 6 is placed on the shelf 7 of the concave section 2. Next, after a terminal 8 having protruding sections 11 in its bottom is brought into contact with the top of the electrode pole 5, the terminal 8 and the top of the electrode pole 5 are welded together while compressing the rubber packing 6 to form a fused area 9, thereby forming the sealed area of the electrode pole of a lead storage battery. As a result, the terminal 8 is fixed to the lid 1 by pressing the upper surface of the rubber packing 6 by means of the protruding sections 11 of the terminal 8, thereby completely sealing the battery and stabilizing the sealed area of the electrode pole. |
