PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the external appearance quality of an door edge protector, by providing a panel contacting lip on one widthwise side of a belt- like body having on the other widthwise side provided with a positioning lip, to cover both side parts of a bi-surface adhesive tape applied on the lower surface of the belt-like body. CONSTITUTION:An automobile door edge protector 7' is constituted such that a positioning lip 4 for covering a door edge end face 6 and a panel contacting lip 8 are laid, respectively on both widthwise sides of a belt-like body 1 having its lower surface applied thereon with a bi-surface adhesive tape 3. After the door edge protector 7' is positioned such that the positioning lip 4 is made in contact with the door edge end face 6, the belt-like body 1 is glued onto a door panel 7 by means of the bi-surface adhesive tape 3. Then, the front end of the panel contacting lip 8 is made abut against the outer surface of the door panel 7 to cover the one side part of the bi-surface adhesive tape 3. Accordingly, the external appearance quality of the protector 7' may be enhanced, and it is possible to prevent adhesion of dust onto the bi-surface adhesive tape 3, deterioration of adhesive effect of the latter, etc. |
