PURPOSE:To soften the shock and prevent engine blowing-up by properly controlling a lock-up clutch when a mechanical supercharger is switched from inoperative state to operation state. CONSTITUTION:A detection means 112 for detecting the change from the inoperative region to the operation region of a mechanical supercharger 42 and a lock- up clutch control means 114 for putting a lock-up clutch L/C into semiengagemet state if the mechanical type supercharger 42 is switched when the lock-up clutch L/C is in engagement state are provided. Further, a switching means 118 for switching the mechanical supercharger 42 from inoperative state to operation state in the period where the locl-up clutch L/C is in semiengagement state is provided. With such constitution, the difference of torque between the engine side and the driving-wheel side which is accompanied by the reduction of the torque of the engine output shaft in case when the mechanical supercharger 42 is switched is absorbed by a hydraulic torque converter, and also engine blowing- up can be prevented. |
