PURPOSE:To keep the side end edge of a carrier from contacting a block and to improve durability by constructing a V-block in such a manner that the whole outer peripheral surface in the lateral direction is positioned nearer to the inner periphery than the inner peripheral surface of the carrier. CONSTITUTION:A V-belt 14 has the outer peripheral surface (top surface) 36 formed in such a manner as to gently expand the central part extending from the lateral one end to the other end, and brought into sliding contact with the inner peripheral surface of a carrier 12. On the other hand, a shallow concave portion 38 U-shaped in section is formed on the inner peripheral side portion of the V-belt 14, and the second carrier 42 is brought into contact with the base 40 of the concave portion. During operation of a belt transmission device, even if the carrier 12 is laterally moved, the thus constructed V-block 14 has no portion brought into contact with the carrier, so that the side end edge of the carrier 12 is kept from abrasion and flash caused by contact with the V-block 14. |
