A processed document is transported in front of a read-out window prior to its ejection. The direction of the drive (5D,5F) of the document (3,3A) can be reversed. The analysed document (3A) arrives to a controllable switch point (9) and to a waiting position (13) during the reverse direction movement. From the waiting position it is passed again in front of the read-out window (2). The switch point is pref. formed by an electrically controlled flap arranged transversely w.r.t the movement direction of the document so that the latter is guided over the switch point prior to its analysis. In one position of the flap the document is passed to the read-out window through an inlet slot, while in its other position thepassage is closed, but the path from the waiting position to the read-out window is released and vice versa.
