The invention relates to a method for controlling the display of graphics on an assembly of electroluminescent diodes arranged into at least one matrix as well as control means for implementing the method. The method is characterised in that, for each matrix, the shape and the position of the graphics are determined cyclically relative to the display surface, in that the coordinates of the diodes 2 to be illuminated are determined according to this position, and in that a line/column scanning is carried out in such a way as to illuminate, by pulses, the diodes intended to reproduce the graphics.
