PURPOSE:To prevent the reflection of monitor beams, radiation thereof to the front and an overlapping to main optical beams by fitting a light-receiving semiconductor element for monitoring an optical output on an extension in the radiant direction of monitor beams for a laser chip and mounting a light- guide part having the waveguide action of beams between monitor beams and the element. CONSTITUTION:An optical part 4 having the waveguide action of beams, such as an optical fiber, a SELFOC lens, etc. is fitted between the light-receiving surface of a light-receiving semiconductor element 2 and the end surface of a facing semiconductor laser 1. Consequently, all of monitor beams from the semiconductor laser 1 can be projected to the light-receiving surface of the light-receiving semiconductor element 2. Accordingly, trouble in which the monitor beams are reflected by a stem 5, etc., are radiated to the front, are overlapped to main optical beams and disturb a far field pattern can be prevented.
