PURPOSE:To obtain optimum values of torque, air-fuel ratio, fuel consumption and other engine properties by providing a reference angle indicating means, a delta angle indicating means, a combustion chamber pressure measuring means and a control unit connected to a memory. CONSTITUTION:A reference angle sensor 54 generates a signal just before a piston 13 reaches the top dead center. A delta angle sensor 55 gives angle position change information of a crank shaft to a control unit 40. a pressure sensor 26 measures instantaneous pressure in a combustion chamber 35. The control unit 40 calculates optimum air flow and ignition lead angle, and controls an ignition plug 25, a fuel injector 29 and a throttle valve 43. Thus, optimum values of torque, air-fuel ratio, fuel consumption and other engine property can be obtained.
