PURPOSE:To obtain a filter medium having resistance to corrosive-chemical and resistance to high temp. without being impaired in the tightness at the end parts of a cartridge by constructing the whole members of a porous cylinder core, nonwoven fabric to be wound around the core and end caps entirely of a fluorine-contg. resin. CONSTITUTION:A sheet of needle punched nonwoven fabric 2 made of a fluorine- contg. resin is wound around a porous cylinder core 1 made also of a fluorine- contg. resin. Preferred thickness of the fiber of the nonwoven fabric is 10-100mum, preferred weight thereof is 500-2,500g/m<2>, and preferred thickness of the nonwoven fabric is 1-5mm. The winding is performed with >=0.5kg/cm<2> tension so as to obtain 6-15mm wound-up thickness. Both ends of the nonwoven fabric are covered with film 3 of the fluorine-contg. resin, and an end cap 4 having central opening 6 is fitted to the end part of the nonwoven fabric, which is fixed by melting.
