PURPOSE:To reduce generation of stereo visual distortion due to a picture frame by making right and left ends of a stereoscopic picture inconspicuous against the picture frame of a display unit. CONSTITUTION:The picture of a left camera is displayed by a left display unit 4. The picture of a right camera is displayed by a right display unit 5. Pictures displayed by right and left display units 4, 5 are visualized through a polarizing plate 6, a half mirror 7, a pair of polarizing glasses 8. Shading waveform 10 is generated by a shading generator 9 synchronizing with horizontal synchronism 3. Picture signals of right and left cameras 1,2 are multiplied by the shading waveform 10 by a multiplier 11. Thereby, signal level of right and left cameras is lowered toward right and left ends, and made inconspicuous against the picture frame. Similar effect can be obtained by lowering of brightness, adjusting to the same hue and saturation with the picture frame etc. |
