Electrode consisting of electrically conductive material, activated by treatment with a heteropolyacid, characterized in that it can be obtained by a process consisting in placing an electrode made of conductive material in contact with a dilute aqueous solution of at least one heteropolyacid which has a concentration below 10**-3 M in acidic medium, and in then applying to the electrode a cathode voltage of at least -0.4 volts, relative to a saturated calomel electrode, for a sufficient time for the current to be stabilized, which corresponds to the fact that the reduction waves of the corresponding heteropolyanion can no longer be observed in cyclic voltammetry. |
